What is Somatic Therapy? 

Somatic Therapy offers a variety of benefits. It reduces discomfort, strain, and stress in the body. It transforms negative emotional experiences, creates a greater sense of Self, builds resilience, and offers hope. It is a holistic form of healing that is grounded in the relationship between the mind and the body.

As Somatic Therapists, our intent is to help clients move into wholeness and well-being – body, mind, heart, and soul. These are all aspects of the self that are inseparably interwoven and are addressed at all levels, a concept often ignored in traditional talk therapy. Each level represents an expansion and deepening of skills. All practitioners will help you experience your body as a wise resource, ally and guide for your life, through somatic healing.

All Somatic Therapists listed have demonstrated competency in Transformative Touch through our somatic therapy training, an approach to Somatic Therapy that occurs through the touch of our voices, the compassion of our presence, and the talk of our hands. At the time of their certification all therapists listed have completed the necessary somatic therapy training and maintained their certification with Continuing Education courses.

  • CST L1 – Certified Somatic Therapist – Level One:  Brings a focus to your body’s experience as the place where your thoughts, feelings and emotions are expressed and manifested.
  • CST L2 – Certified Somatic Therapist – Level Two: Adds further experience of guidance through the emotional field.
  • CST L3 -Certified Somatic Therapist – Level Three: Adds experience with the impact of family of origin dynamics, attachment wounds, and core beliefs.
  • CST Pro-Certified Somatic Therapist Pro -Experience of  5 years of clinical practice as a full time practitioner.
  • MST: Master Somatic Therapist: Clinical Experience of 10 plus years plus completion of 3 Levels of Graduate training.

I have been on a healing journey both personally and professionally for over 35 years, both as a therapist and teacher of somatic therapy training. Life has taught me a great deal about being human and through all the twists and turns of events I know the destination has been finding and being my deepest, truest self. That is the journey I offer to anyone who comes to work with me. There are certainly some universal themes in being human, but for each person, the path is different and unique. Through all the ups and downs, I believe in the resiliency of the human spirit and its ability to lead us all back home to our truest brightest Selves.

Join a Mini-Series

The BODYWISE SERIES will be a 3-5 part weekly series of experiential Somatic Therapy mini-workshops inviting you to experience healing beyond traditional talk therapy, to use your body in a new way. For most of us we treat our body as a mechanical vehicle that takes us from place to place. From time to time we might take it in for a tune up, but mostly we wait until there is some kind of breakdown or malfunction, before we pay it much attention. It’s when we sprain our wrist that we realize how many things per day we do that involve the movement of our wrist and our hands- putting on clothes, opening the refrigerator, carrying something, lifting, walking the dog, etc. It takes some kind of illness or limitation to awaken us to the miracle of our body.

These series are designed to open you to a whole new appreciation of your body through somatic healing. It is far more than a machine, it is home to your thoughts, your feelings, your spirit. It is a wise body..a holy body.
